Courses Offered
A wide variety of courses are offered through the Northeast Geothermal Training Center, which is hosted by Energy Catalyst. IGSHPA Certified Installer courses are offered bi-monthly, which are recognized by NYSERDA and other state agencies for participation in incentive programs. Some courses are eligible for 50% reimbursement through NYSERDA’s Cooperative Advertising and Training program.
Manufacturer’s training
These short courses are designed to provide practical and hands on training for existing HVAC professionals looking to enter the geothermal industry. Designed to be short and sweet, these courses are led by product engineers and experts in the industry to help professionals avoid common mistakes.
A high quality breakfast and lunch are typically provided.
IGSHPA Certification Courses
IGSHPA Trainings are typically longer courses and an exam at the end will determine if an applicant can be certified. In 2024, the Certified Installer course will be offered regularly and a Certified Geothermal Driller course will be offered at a later date.

IGSHPA Accredited Installer In-Person Training
Energy Catalyst Training Facility 60 113th, TroyEnergy Catalyst is hosting an in person geothermal installer training. Participants will be eligible to take the IGSHPA Accredited Installer exam following the course. Get your Accredited Installer certification with one of IGSHPA’s Certified Trainers! This in person Accredited Installer course will be held in Troy, NY October 16-18, 2024. Accredited Installer certification is required to participate in the NYS Clean Heat program and most New England rebate programs. IGSHPA Accredited Installer Training
Energy Catalyst Training Facility 60 113th, TroyThis is a 3 day course that will allow attendees to take a test to become an IGSHPA certified contractor.
